About 25 years ago, I put myself through Uni working in catteries, and loved it. Since then it has been an ambition to build something ‘really special’ for our feline friends.
I have seen many catteries, and hope that in establishing ‘Catopia’ I have been able to incorporate what I believe are the best features, whilst weeding out potential problems. Our facilities meet and indeed exceed, all current Standards and Codes of Practice for boarding facilities in Australia.

Keeping stress levels down is essential to your cat as a stressed cat can become a sick cat. The solid dividing walls between rooms, provides them with a calming private space and helps to avoid any injury or illness being passed on.
Plenty of fresh air in the enclosed courtyards and the greenery of the indoor garden adds to the ambience giving it a “back patio” feel.
Indoor gardens are not only beneficial for people, they also have a calming effect on animals and promote health and wellbeing.
To avoid stress, bullying and the transfer of illness, there is no socialising of cats from different households.

Catopia has been designed along passive solar principals, staying warm in winter and cool in summer. The building is very well insulated and ventilated, but for those extremely hot days, there is also air conditioning!
We encourage responsible pet ownership, in particular de-sexing and containment from dusk til dawn, for the safety of your cat and to minimise wildlife damage.
